FAQ

What are Trait Shards used for in Defeat Anime RNG?
They are the currency for shaping a unit you already have: the Traits stand rolls a selected character's trait with them, so you improve a unit instead of hoping the next roll gives you what you wanted. The exact current cost has to be read in game, because no source publishes it.
What are Star Shards for?
No source we could read says. Star Shards appear in code rewards -- 50 from one code and 25 from another -- and the currency names come from the publishers' own reward wording, but what they buy is not published anywhere we could reach.
Which codes give potions?
The code ledger carries the reward each publisher reported, and the reported rows include Luck, XP and Gold potions, usually together in one update code, alongside the 2x luck and 2x gold boosts and the shard rewards.

The shortlist

Name What the sources say it is Source
Trait Shards The currency for shaping a unit rather than hoping the next roll is perfect; the Traits stand rolls a selected character’s trait with them Game Rant (September 29, 2026); Pro Game Guides (reviewed September 17, 2026)
Star Shards A separate shard currency, handed out by codes. No source we read explains what it is spent on The code ledger
Luck Potions Give the roll a better chance at rare animes and mutations Game Rant (September 29, 2026)
XP Potions Help you level units faster Game Rant (September 29, 2026)
Gold Potions Help you buy things faster Game Rant (September 29, 2026)
Power Shard, Passive Shard, Secret Chest Named as the reward of one code. No source we read explains what they do The code ledger
Angelic and Blossom Powers that change how a unit fights Game Rant (September 29, 2026)
Luck Boost and Gold Boost Temporary boosts: 2× luck for an hour, 2× gold for three hours The code ledger

Two currencies come with a caveat, because the honest answer is short: Star Shards and the three shard-and-chest items appear in code rewards, and nothing we could read says what they are for. The traits and shards guide covers what the sources do say about spending Trait Shards, and the rest has to be read in game.

What to spend them on is the next question. The unit ranking guide shows how to work out which unit is best for your team from damage, traits and merge cost, and the pull rate page sets out the rarity the developer itself advertises.

Which codes hand out which

The code ledger carries the reward each publisher page reported, so the currency names above are the ones the codes actually give. The current rows hand out:

  • Trait Shards — the most common reward, on most of the reported rows
  • Star Shards — 50 from one code, 25 from another
  • Luck, XP and Gold Potions — together in one of the update codes
  • Power Shard and Passive Shard — 50 and 75 from one code, plus a chest whose name the publisher’s own table truncates
  • Angelic and Blossom powers — one code each
  • A unit — one code hands out a Genius Mutated Koben instead of currency
  • Temporary boosts — the 2× luck and 2× gold boosts, one hour and three hours

What a currency is worth here

No source publishes the prices: not the cost of a trait roll, not what a Star Shard buys, not a shop price for a potion. That is not an oversight in this page, it is the state of the public information. The one thing you can do yourself is the arithmetic on the numbers you can see — and for damage and uptime, that is what the unit comparison calculator is for.

Where the numbers come from

Source Date What it contributes
Developer listing Read October 24, 2026 The systems the game is made of, and the version it is on
Game Rant September 29, 2026 What each currency and power does
Pro Game Guides Reviewed September 17, 2026 The Traits stand, and Trait Shards as the currency for a trait roll
Code ledger October 24, 2026 Which codes hand out which currency, and how much

Pro Game Guides could not be re-read on October 24, 2026 — it answers automated requests with a block page — so the Traits stand detail still carries its September 17 review date. Everything else was read on the dates shown.
