FAQ

Do the Defeat Anime RNG UPD 8 codes still work?
Three publisher pages still list upd8luck, upd8gold, berserk and meow as active, and Beebom's refreshed page from October 24, 2026 lists all four as expired. The ledger marks them disputed, which is what the pages actually say. Read the in-game response before counting the reward.
Why do code lists disagree about the same code?
Publishers update at different times and keep a single expired list at the bottom of the page, so an old list can keep naming codes that stopped working. Each ledger row carries the date of the page that reported it, so the disagreement is visible instead of hidden.
What do the UPD 8 codes give?
upd8luck is reported as a 2x luck boost for one hour, upd8gold as a 2x gold boost for three hours, berserk as 50 Star Shards and meow as 250 Trait Shards. Those are the publishers' rewards; this site did not redeem them.

The UPD 8 set

Code Reported reward Where it stood on October 20, 2026
upd8luck 2× luck boost for 1 hour Listed as active by Pocket Tactics, PCGamesN and Destructoid
upd8gold 2× gold boost for 3 hours Listed as active by Pocket Tactics, PCGamesN and Destructoid
berserk 50 Star Shards Listed as active by Pocket Tactics, PCGamesN and Destructoid
meow 250 Trait Shards Listed as active by Pocket Tactics, PCGamesN and Destructoid

Two of them carry the UPD 8 tag. The other two are named after what they hand out rather than after a version, and they were listed next to the tagged ones on every page that was read that day.

What changed afterwards

This is the part worth reading. On October 24, 2026 Beebom refreshed its code page: it now shows the UPD 9 codes as new and lists these four as expired. Three other pages still show them as active, and the code names a Discord invite and a boss fight, which suggests they were not a temporary event.

So the pages no longer agree, and the code ledger carries them as Disputed rather than as working codes. That is the honest state: three pages still list them, one page says they are gone, and nobody has redeemed one to settle it.

Why a code list goes stale

Codes here are version-stamped. A code named for update 5 stops working when update 6 lands, and a publisher that keeps one “expired” list at the bottom of the page keeps showing the same names for months. The date on the page is the only way to tell a fresh list from a stale one, which is why every row in the ledger carries the date of the page that reported it.

What is not covered

The reward wording is the publishers’ wording, capitalised consistently here. Trait Shards and Star Shards are two different currencies, and the pages read do not explain what either one buys. The currencies guide lists every currency the sources name, and the traits and shards guide covers what this site can say about spending them.

Nothing here was redeemed by us. Read the in-game response.
